Another one of our popular visits to Carrickfergus with lunch, ales, banter while overlooking the scenic Belfast Lough and Norman castle.
We have had a few conversations about the Marine Bar in Whitehead. Once run by the owner of the Whitecliff Inn, it was sold and then the ex-owner is now trying to stop the renewal of the license - typical. The pub (not doing lunch) is only an extra 10 minutes on the train so we could have an early lunch in Carrick and hop on the train to Whitehead and about 5 mins walk to the Marine Bar. Straight run back to Belfast.

Saturday 25th April
Met up for the 11:12 bus outside Lanyon Station to JDW in N/Ards then lunch, chat/banter, cask ales, a bus back just after 4pm with a quick pre-homeward pint in the Crown.
